Thank you! This is really helpful.

I am glad you found it helpful, Sonja. Being more productive can save so much time and energy!!

I don’t mean to sound rude or anything but spelling is so crucial in the online world it just irks me when there is a simple mistake that could have been fixed. It should be “have some quiet time note quite time..” you might want to fix this.

great ideas! :D

Thank you!

I understand fully and thanks for catching that!! I will definitely try and make sure I don’t confuse them again :) English is afterall my second language! Regards Loné

I love your website! So helpful. :) Thank you!

There are just so many hours in a day (24 to be exact), most of us feel like we can use a little more, but I believe with the right routines in place, we are able to make the most of any day…

Putting in a little more effort in the evening can immensely improve your performance for the following day. Having a healthy evening routine can help eliminate some of your stress and improve your sleep habits. Think about it like this – you lie in bed at night and your mind starts wandering “Oops, I forgot to do this”, “Oh yeah, that work proposal is tomorrow, I totally forgot” or “I didn’t even pack lunch for my hubby”. Those are definitely things that could keep you up at night, meaning you don’t always get a good night’s rest.

By following a steady night-time routine and to do list, you will not only be able to improve your sleep, you will also feel ready and more productive for the next morning.

Pack lunches. We all need fuel during the day to keep us going, especially when our days are packed with meetings, running errands or driving around our children. Packing a healthy lunch in the evening, not only saves money but also that much needed time in the mornings, when there is just so many other things to do.

Have your breakfast ready. Just like packing your lunch, having your breakfast all prepped and ready for the next morning makes a huge difference. For example, if you eat cereal for breakfast, take out a bowl and spoon with the cereal and place them somewhere convenient, so in the morning, you can just add milk.

Have a set beauty routine. This is the one I struggle with the most, but it is vital that we make time for ourselves. This can include anything like washing your face, brushing your teeth, flossing, putting on a facial mask, basically anything that will help you have a more relaxed bedtime. As I have emphasized with the morning routine habits can be hard, but once you have mastered them, you will start doing them automatically.

Clean the kitchen. This is definitely one of my pet peeves, I HATE a dirty kitchen. In my mind, a dirty kitchen = a dirty house (not that I am perfect in this aspect), it just feels a whole lot better if go into the kitchen in the morning with a sink and countertops. Make it a habit to wash your dishes daily and clear your countertops of dirt and clutter. Trust me you will feel the difference.

Charge all your devices. Most of us have multiple electronic devices like cell phones, tablets, cameras, GPS’s etc. By plugging them in to charge at night and having a full battery in the morning, will give you that extra confidence boost for the day and you know you are ready to receive that important call or email you have been waiting for.

Set out your clothes. This one’s a biggie and can take so much of your precious morning time. By setting out your clothes for the next day, you eliminate the whole scenario of standing in front of your closet, wondering “What will I be wearing today?”. This also helps, if you know you want to exercise early in the morning or go to the gym after work, if you have them ready, you will feel more motivated to just go and exercise. Being organized has that effect on people.

Know your to-do list for the following day. Take 5 minutes, sit down and go through your to-do list for the next day. This is not meant to give you a panic attack, if you see the list of 100 things you still need to do, this is more of a subtle reminder to help you prioritize tomorrow in the most effective way possible.

Have some quiet time. Right before you go to bed, make time to thank God for all your blessing and just reflect on your day. Another awesome way to enjoy this time is to start a journal. Listen to some soft music and just make the best of this time. Quieting your heart and mind before you go to bed will make a huge difference in the way you sleep. You cannot sleep properly when you are anxious and worried.

These activities might seem trivial, but by working them into your night-time routine you will definitely experience a more productive morning. And if you’re a late sleeper like me, it gives you that extra 20 minutes to snooze. Just a thought.

Have I missed anything? What do you do in the evenings to have a more productive day? I would love to hear from you, feel free to comment below
